International Women’s Day is celebrated every year across the globe on 8th March –in view of women’s accomplishments and contributions across the world. We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the incredible contributions made in society and business by women entrepreneurs from one of our nation’s finest institutions, the IITs.

Aarti Gill 

Aarti Gill: Co-founder – OZiva

Aarti Gill is the co-founder and CEO of OZiva, a promising young startup in the health and nutrition space. Oziva offers a wide variety of products that are made using plant extracts and whole food nutrition, and combine the principles of Ayurveda and modern nutrition science. Ms. Gill graduated as an engineer from IIT-Roorkee and then went on to pursue an MBA at INSEAD.

Richa Singh

Richa Singh: Co-founder – YourDost

Co-founder and CEO of the mental wellness company YourDost,  Richa Singh was exposed to the ugly consequences of poor mental health when her roommate at IIT Guwahati committed suicide due to academic pressure. Her firm provides free mental health counseling from experts on its website. Richa was also featured in Forbes Magazine’s prestigious 30 under 30 list for her involvement in advancing the fields of healthcare and science.

Neha Singh

Neha Singh: Co-founder -Tracxn

Neha Singh co-founded Tracxn, a firm that specializes in providing institutional quality data on startups and venture activities. The firm has revolutionized access to information in an industry notorious for secrecy and information asymmetry. Users have drawn comparisons with platforms such as Bloomberg with regards to the quality of information. Mrs. Singh graduated from IIT Bombay as a computer science engineer and subsequently completed an MBA at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.

Parul Gupta

Parul Gupta: Co-founder – Springboard

Parul Gupta is the co-founder of education technology startup Springboard, which aims to make users “job-ready in 6-9 months”. The firm employs a four-part strategy that begins with content discovery and ends with networking with employers. Parul graduated from IIT Bombay, before going to the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business for her higher studies.

Anu Meena

Anu Meena: Founder – AgroWave

Growing up in Manoli, a village in the heart of Rajasthan, Anu Meena came from modest beginnings. From a young age, she had seen her grandfather, a farmer, endeavor to overcome the supply chain hurdles that still plague India’s agriculture sector. With that in mind, Anu started AgroWave in 2017 with the objective of streamlining the agricultural supply chain and improving pricing and monetization prospects for farmers. Ms. Meena graduated from IIT Delhi before starting AgroWave.

Women all over the world have played an extremely important role in influencing and shaping the course of history, and we believe that education can be a powerful tool that can be used to empower and equip the next generation of women with the skills they need to succeed in life and chart the course forward for our species.
