There is not even a month left for the coveted Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main and candidates have a lot to prepare. The competition is already high and the newly-built National Testing Agency (NTA) being the conducting body from the coming year, the students are in stress. There have been a lot of questions running in the students minds about JEE Main 2019, exam paper pattern being the major one. The utmost advice that our academic experts have for its candidates is to keep their calm. It shall be noted that there are no changes in the syllabus and exam pattern.

From 2019 onwards, NTA will conduct the paper twice a year—January and April, then the earlier practice. The conducting body has released the admit cards which are now available for the January exam session. Students who fall under the eligibility criteria will sit for the exam which will begin from January 6, 2019. As per the official notification published online at nta.ac.in, the JEE Main 2019 exam paper pattern is described below.

JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 Exam Pattern

Paper 1 consists of three sections of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total number of questions would be 90 with each section comprising of 30 each. Students will get 3 hours to answer the objective type choice-based questions of 360 marks. The question papers at all the exam centres will be available in Hindi and English. Each question will carry four marks, and for every incorrect answer, 1/4th of the total marks will be deducted. NTA will conduct JEE Main Paper 1 in the morning schedule from January 6 to January 20, 2019.

JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 Exam Pattern

The students here must note that the Paper 2 exam will be conducted partially in computer-based and pen and paper mode. It includes online objective questions as well as drawing questions which will be in offline mode. This paper is for students who are interested in undergraduate architecture courses. The students will get 3 hours to answer 82 questions of 390 marks which will be available in Hindi and English. All the questions in Math and Aptitude section have equal weight—4 marks for each question. Drawing question paper will carry 70 marks. For every incorrect answer, 1/4th of the total mark allotted will be deducted. JEE Main Paper 2 is scheduled to be held on January 8 only in one shift.

NTA had set up more than 3,404 test practise centres at 662 districts across India for JEE Main aspirants. This will help the candidates to be aware of what type of questions could come and get the feeling of exam-like environment before the actual exam takes place. The online mock test links for JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 and Paper 2 are also activated for students to practise. Now as the hall tickets for the exam has been released, it is recommended to the candidates to keep a print out ready before the exam day, to avoid any last-minute hustle as it is the important document to appear in NTA JEE Main 2019.
