The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG is an entrance examination in India, for students who wish to study graduate medical course (MBBS) and dental course (BDS) in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges respectively in India.

NEET-UG (Undergraduate), for MBBS and BDS courses, is currently conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) NEET-UG replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves in 2013. NEET is a single entrance test for admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India

The Medical Council of India (MCI) announced the syllabus for the NEET-UG in 2011. The syllabus for NEET-PG is the same as that of the MBBS course described in the MCI Regulations concerning Graduate Medical Education, 1997. The multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be based on the MBBS syllabus, as will the knowledge that needs to be acquired during the internship period, which is also described in said regulations. The distribution of questions, model questions and method of tie breaking for ranking have been placed on the website, as well as in the Prospectus.

Highlights of NEET Exam Pattern 2019

  • NEET 2019 will be conducted for the first time in online mode i.e. computer-based mode.

  • The exam will be conducted in two sessions namely February and May across eight shifts in each session.

  • All questions will be multiple choice based which implies there will be four options to each question and among those four options, one will be right as deemed by the conducting body.

  • Those candidates who will select any regional languages as medium of question paper will receive the question paper in Hindi, English and selected language while those who will select Hindi as the medium of question paper will receive the question paper in English and Hindi. Candidates who will select English as their medium of language will receive the question paper only in English.

  • One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for questions which are left attempted by candidates.

PATTERN OF TEST The NEET

(UG) shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The duration of paper would be 03 hours from 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.

NEET Colleges

As per the orders of Honorable Supreme Court, there will be a single medical entrance exam all over India for admission into medical and dental colleges. The colleges will not be able to conduct their own medical entrance exam and thus all will accept students based on National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test 2017 (NEET) Score. All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT), is now known as NEET. The total number of seats offered under NEET are 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India.

NEET is also for admission into 15% seats in government medical and dental colleges and in all private medical and dental colleges all over India except Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. These states do not participate in NEET (15% all India quota).

New Changes Introduced Last Year

  • On the proposal of Union Health Ministry, MCI approved several changes in the NEET UG entrance exam. Below we have listed the new changes introduced last year:

  • Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have joined 15% All India Quota scheme. Candidates of these states need not to submit Self Declaration form now.

  • Aadhaar Card is also not compulsory to fill the NEET Application. But candidates have to require any ID proof to apply for the exam.

  • Indian candidates those wish to pursue MBBS/BDS in foreign nationals, they have qualified NEET UG exam.

  • The attempt limit has been removed from the last year. Now, candidates may attempt the NEET until the age limit as per their categories.

  • NIOS or State Open School or private candidates are not eligible to NEET exam.

  • There will be one set for question paper in all languages.

  • As per officials the exam will be bilingual (except language chosen in English).

  • NTA will set up 3,000 practice centres for NEET UG examination from August 2018. It will function on Saturdays and Sundays & candidates will get around an hour to practice.

NEET 2019 Application Form

  • Candidates should fill the application form as per the instructions given in the information bulletin. Below we are providing NEET 2019 application form details:

  • The application form will be issued through online mode only.

  • No application will be entertained through offline mode.

  • NEET UG registration 2019 will be commenced from the 1st October 2018 (Feb Exam) & second week of March 2018 (May Exam).

  • Candidates should upload the scanned images of recent passport size photograph and signature.

  • After filling the application form completely, a confirmation page will be generated. Download it.

  • There will be no need to send the printed confirmation page to the board.

Application Fee:

  • General and OBC candidates will have to pay Rs. 1400/- as an application fee.

  • The application fee for SC/ST and PH candidates will be Rs. 750/-.

  • Fee payment can be done through credit/debit card, net banking, UPI and e-wallet.

  • Service tax will also be applicable.

NEET UG Application Correction:

One-time opportunity will be provided by the board to make correction in the applications. Details regarding NEET application correction are mentioned below:

Corrections can be done only through online mode.

Correction facility will be provided in the first week of November 2018 (Feb Exam) & third week of April 2018 (May Exam).

Candidates will be intimated through e-mail/SMS regarding correction in photograph and signature. The same will be available in the candidate's login account.

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must check their eligibility before filling the application form. Candidates can check the detailed NEET 2019 eligibility criteria from below:

  • Age Limit: Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years. The maximum age limit will be 25 years (30 years for SC/ST & OBC).

  • Nationality: Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for NEET UG.

  • Candidates belong to J&K state will be eligible to apply for 15% All India Quota on the basis of self-declaration.

  • Aadhaar Card Mandate: Aadhar number is not mandatory to apply for NEET exam.

  • J&K, Assam & Meghalaya candidates can also apply by providing their passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Government ID number.

  • NRI candidates can apply by Aadhaar Card number or Passport Number.

  • PIO, OCI & Foreign nationals' candidates can apply by Passport Number.

Qualification Eligibility:

  • Students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam.

  • In the qualifying exam, students should have physics, chemistry, biology/bio-technology with English as compulsory subject.

  • Percentage Criteria: Minimum 50% marks for general, 45% marks for PH and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates in the PCB group.

NEET 2019 Exam Pattern

Date of Exam: The exam will be organized on 3rd February to 17th February 2019 (Feb exam) & 5th May to 26th May 2019 (May Exam).

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be organized through computer based (online) mode.

  • Type of Questions: There will be objective type questions in the exam.

  • Duration: The exam duration will be of three hours.

  • Number of Questions: Total 180 questions will be asked.

  • Language: The question paper will be asked in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Kananda languages.

  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, four marks will be given.

  • Negative Marking: For each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

NEET 2019 Admit Card

  • NEET hall ticket 2019 will be released in the 1st week of January 2019 (Feb exam) & 1st week of May 2019 (May exam).

  • The board will provide the facility to get the admit card via online mode.

  • A format for affixing of postcard size photograph will be released along with the admit card.

  • In case of any discrepancy found in the admit card, contact with the officials.

  • When student will download their hall ticket, a PDF copy of the same will be send to the candidate's registered email ID.

NEET UG Answer Key 2019

The answer key will be released along with OMR responses through online mode. NEET answer key 2019 will be published within a week after the exam.

The board will offer the facility to challenge against the answer key. Candidates will have to pay Rs. 1000/- per answer to challenge the answer key.

Candidates will have to visit their login portal. Enter their user ID (registration number) and password to challenge the answer key.

NEET 2019 Result

  • Here we are providing details about the NEET 2019 result:

  • Students those will appear in the exam can check their result via online mode.

  • Result will be announced in the 1st week of March 2019 (Feb exam) & 1st week of June 2019 (May exam).

  • It will not be prepared category wise.

  • There will be no provision of re-evaluation/re-checking of the answer sheets.

NEET UG 2019 Rank List:

The board will prepare a merit list as per the guidance of DGHS, MCI and DCI.

The merit list will be prepared for the 15% All India Quota.

Students will be invited for counselling as per their rank in the NEET UG examination.

NEET Cut Off 2019

NEET Counselling 2019

  • The counselling process will be organized through online mode.

  • Counselling for 15% All India Quota seats will be administrated by Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services.

  • State level counselling will be organized separately by the respective state counselling authorities.

  • NEET 2019 counselling will be commenced from the second week of June 2019.

  • Firstly, candidates have to register for counselling and fill their preferences for admission.

  • Seats will be allotted to students as per their merit, category and availability of seats in colleges.

  • Once a seat will be allotted, candidates have to report to the allotted college within the notified schedule.
